Jagorawi Golf & Country Club

Attention to detail is often the difference between a good golf course and a great one. The small detail matters a lot and at the Jangorawi Golf & Country Club – a 45 hole facility nestled between the cities of Jakarta and Bogor – the attention to detail is phenomenal even when the site itself is grand in every way. Couple this with the fact that you have a wonderful routing that takes golfers to all its best bits you have the making of a fine golf adventure and wonderful experience

The lead up to the 1st hole on the Old Course. You know you are in for something special

Admittedly I only toured the Old Course and bits of the new (it was late afternoon) but I saw enough to class this Thompson, Wolveridge, Perret and Fream designed facility in very high esteem. I though the shaping work was excellent and each hole was interesting. Mostly I enjoyed how the holes meld into their surrounds  i.e the JUNGLE. This is jungle golf at its best and the course is characterful and identifiable because the architects chose to let the jungle dictate the play as much as possible.

Jungle bounding the 9th green on the Old. Note the fairways are all cow grass

Of course the golf course is not easy….whilst the fairways are generous and uncrowded if you stray to much left or right your ball will find the jungle and you would be best served teeing it up again. But with an environment this mesmerizing and a golf course this good I hardly think you would mind if you loose a couple of balls.

What an adventure.

bunkering = beautiful

The bunkering is simple but beautiful

Bunkering mixed in with the existing trees + note the large mound to the left. Wish we saw more ground contouring like this on our golf courses today

More small detail. It matters people
